Michigan Embassy? WanderingWilbo Ambassador

Hello friends from the Detroit Metro area. I have a programming gig that has landed me on Ventura Boulevard not too far from Universal Studios. So this is a big break for my programming career, if not my career in voice-over. I am writing to you from the top of Topanga, a wild canyon north of the Pacific Ocean and Malibu Beach. Alas, all of the hunting lodges are being converted into chic-chic ranches. Most every one in the WaterLily Cafe, Topanga Village, is reading Variety.

So, Michiganders, you have an friend embedded in the land of entertainment and story. I can imagine myself serving as a forward agent for a Made in Michigan film festival, or helping careerists on tour navigate the city (once I've learned it myself). Hmm, maybe establishing a Michigan Embassy to promote cultural exchange between Michigan and California is not too far beyond possibility. After all, the great states of California and Michigan have populations greater than many European nations; both states are giants when it comes to creative and intellectual resources. Let there be diplomacy and exchange between us !

Best, if you can think of some event or venue that is must see, kindly point me in the right direction. At Three in the afternoon, I'll be enjoying the debut performance of the Topanga Symphony at the community house, an afternoon free to all auds. I'll be soaking up all this cultural oasis has to offer; I'll have great ideas for evening events when you make your pilgrimage to the world's entertainment mecca.

I'm documenting my exploration of LA and the Californian republic in my new blog, WanderingWilbo. Enjoy reading it at the following address:
