I'm checking my bank account this morning, and I see the following charge.
04/21/2007
VISA PURCHASE 001 EXTENDEDSTAY #8754 BURBANK CA 2007-04-21 07.36.08
In-process
236.45
I'm wondering why my balance has descended so much. I removed my balance from the record I pasted. You'll laugh at Wilbo if you knew it.
There's no reason for a charge of almost 250 dollars. I've been staying there prepaid as a Priceline guest. In fact, I just used Priceline to book again for three nights, until Tuesday morning, with the option to extend three days until Friday morning.
I saw some stupid item on my bill that was pushed under my door wee hours of Friday morning. I talked with the desk clerk, and she assured me there was no problem. That amount was going to be transferred to Priceline's online Mastercard. That sounded reasonable to me.
I had already rebooked for Friday night, using the extend your stay option for one and only one day. Lately, any bid of 50 dollars a night for an one star hotel in Burbank is putting you at ESA near the Bob Hope Airport.
I can see now I will have to pursue it this morning. I rather sit in this Starbucks and ride the keyboard express of self-expression.
1-818-567-0952 is the number to the Extended Stay. I always seem to wind up wrangling with the autopilot operator.
I wanted to post a note to the online service representative, which I've done before. But I don't see the option on the website anymore. It's probably me. I'm not smart enough to find it again.
I've been there since Sunday night in Room 121. The desk clerk said I had just arrived Friday. I guess they haven't looked at the room history. I'll probably wind up paying for the room refresh that I'm due on the seventh day. This is the seventh day. Mentioning the overcharge, she said she would let the billing clerk handle it on Monday. Fine, hold onto my money until Monday and then make me bring it up again on Monday. I'm very attached to the 236 dollars.
I went soft. I was tired Sunday afternoon when I checked into the hotel. Usually, I am able to sidestep turning in my credit card, claiming I will have no incidentals. Well, I guess I'm going back to that practice. A hotel where you can check in with cash only is also a hotel with used furniture and a bad television set. It is usually a hotel where one often pays a key deposit. Living in hotels is no fun.
