Confused About My Bill at Extended Stay American

To Guest Relations, Extended Stay, Los Angeles-Northridge:

Hi, I was your guest at this property from Saturday, April 7 to Saturday, April 14th. I enjoy using the internet to keep in touch with people and to handle my business affairs. Your system requires a log in using a code from the desk-clerk, and your billing plan charges around five dollars per stay. In the time I stayed, which could be only construed as two stays, I was charged each time your system forced me to relog in, and I was forced to relog in every morning around 6 AM. So I left the hotel with 49.00 in room charges when I was expecting 9 or 10 dollars for room charges. Your billing system is not fairly charging, and so I ask for a refund of 40 dollars. I want to use your internet service, but I don't want to run up a large bill for it. It is an issue that will make me think twice about staying at an Extended Stay, and your business is conducted so well otherwise, I never have never had to think twice about staying at an Extended Stay.

[Okay, I could have asked the desk clerk, Y, to reverse the 40 dollar overcharge, but she was busy, beautiful and grateful. Why did she feel grateful? I had an Easter Gift Bag from Whole Foods Market, and I didn't want to waste it so I gave it to her. Even if she doesn't enjoy its contents, she could leave it for staff. Who wants to mess up a perfect moment between an older man and a younger woman by haggling over a bill? You can tell the quality of a gentleman by his grace when egressing a hotel room, laden with luggage. Best case scenario, emerge from ones temporary home with all ones traveling goods stashed in matching luggage, an assisting bellhop handling each item.

I'm pretty confident that staff of Extended Stay in the Carolinas will take care of me.)

Indeed, the manager wrote me personally:

Dear Mr. Juntunen:

I received your E-mail regarding The Internet Charges I review you Bill and I did not see any charges at all.. Nothing has been charge to your credit card.... In you E-mail you mentioned that you left with a charge of $49. I did no see that charge....If you have any questions please send me an E-mail ....

Thanks..
