Learning About Sundance Square, Fort Worth Texas

Date: Mon, 29 May 2006 18:01:10 -0700 (PDT)

I'll take that new postcard to SUNDANCE SQUARE !! Fort Worth, TX

Hi Connie;

To keep up our custom, could you send me a stack of cards to post in Dallas - Fort Worth? I'll put them in Deep Ellium, the cool district of downtown Dallas and in happening spots in Fort Worth's Sundance Square. Yep, I've been to Sundance Square. Butch and the Sundance Kid were celebrating a successful, huge heist, and the gang chose Fort Worth as a hideout and party spot one hundred years ago. One section of Fort Worth was called, "Hell's Half Acre", and it had gambling and all kinds of illicit activities. The gang felt so secure, all members posed for a picture. Of course, Pinkerton's acquired a copy because it identified all members of the gang. In one legend, the gang sent it to the bank they had robbed in Winnemucca, Nevada.

Sundance Square Now

The Sundance Kid is still "alive" in Sundance, Wyoming, where he had served 18 months in jail for horse rustling. He was pardoned by the Wyoming governor just in time to meet Butch !

So much for Hell's Half Acre. It's buried under the convention center ---> Now it's fun for the whole family !
