I was reading about the Roshambo Winery today in the archives of Winefiles.org and the Sonoma Country Library, and the Winefiles.org database mentions Roshambo Winery as prominent for support of the visual and performing arts.

As I check out the website, I see that you are not supporting the stuffy side of visual and performing arts, but rather, Roshambo Winery supports a great blending of Juxtapose magazine art, the more tasteful parts, and that Bonny Doon zaniness!

I am researching the North American wine countries [Sonoma, Sierra Foothills, Sacramento Delta, Napa, Suisun, Santa Cruz Mountains, Monterey County, Central Coast, Santa Barbara, Ohio Firelands, Erie Archipelago, Lake Michigan Shores & the Niagara Escarpment] and the opportunities they open up for visual and performing arts. Would you keep me in touch with your vineyard & events? I am planning a visit for the winter of 2006.

Thanks for finding us. The gallery in the tasting room acts as my sanity. Although most visitors are more interested in the vistas of vineyard I want them to experience more than a casual wine country taste.

The gallery showcases mostly new conceptual artists, that otherwise may not have a venue and those who are not afraid to take risks.

I will put you on our email list so that you can get the latest. This next weekend is my biggest event of the year. The winery name Roshambo is California slang for the game rock-paper-scissors. We will be duking it out for a grand prize of a $grand. I expect no less than 250 guests that day. We try to have fun and not take ourselves so seriously...

Hopefully that becomes infectious.

Pebble-master,

If you fly to SFO this weekend, using frequent flier points, take a bus up from 826 Valencia, you can go to a Sonoma Valley party with Dave Eggers, who wrote "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius". 826 Valencia is a street address in San Francisco, but it is also Egger's non-profit where kids learn about writing for fun. Ann Arbor has an 826 Michigan now.

Roshambo Winery is owned by a sexy, fun-loving winemaker, and she's holding the Pirate's Prom as a fund raiser for 826 Valencia. If you bring your bongos and your guitar, you'll fit in beautifully; just do the subtle performance you did at Lulu's; not really a set, just sitting in. I'm just trying to promote your career, Pebble-master.

Wilbo
