@WanderingWilbo writes an American architect who is "pledging" Canadian

Goodness B, three lines and my head spins. I have cultivated a
similar line of thinking. I'll be staying at the Anchor Inn on
Manitoulin Island during the week of July 4th, plus points between
there and Mackinac Island.

Why not become a landed immigrant? 2 grand and you've got a land
contract for Dignam Land Company? http://www.dignam.com/

I started hanging in Canada around Stratford and Toronto back in 2003.
Here's a Canadian tale. I was served a perfect breakfast of peameal
bacon & eggs at diner in Wheatley, Ontario. Lots of slaves made their
way to freedom in Wheatley. My cook was charming and moved about
effortless. During the week, she teaches classical piano at the local
high school. I drive along Lake Erie to Pardo Acres and buy some
apples. The clerk who sells me the apples is an accomplished classical
piano.

Justin Bieber comes from Stratford Ontario. There, he's ordinary.
Here, he's a major star. It's like Canada is Krypton for culture.
Here, they just flourish in the easier gravity.

Do you remember when I called you from Toronto? The irony.

Ah, and the Leonard Cohen quote, a favorite of mine. He's a Commander
in the Order of Canada now. Surely you've seen his biopic, "I'm Your
Man?"

Best,
Wilbo
