@LiveryBrew has freshed hops shipped on Friday & brews Harvest Ale with them on Saturday?

The words of brewmaster Steve Berthel, clipped from the weekly Livery
Brew email blast:

What is a Harvest Ale? In normal beer production, hop plants produce
their buds in August, growers harvest the hops, and then the hops are
dried and processed for beer production for the coming year. But in
harvest ales, the hops go straight into the beer. No drying. Fresh,
recently harvested hops yield lots of bright flavors without the
bitterness that comes from a really hoppy beer, like India pale ale.

Oct. 31st will feature firkins of McGillihop and Hopping Dragon.
Brewmaster Steve Berthel explains how he created McGillihop and
Hopping Dragon:

“For McGillihop, I used our flagship IPA, McGilligans, and tweaked the
grain component of the recipe. I ordered 50 pounds of fresh Cascade
hops from Yakima, WA, that were picked on a Thursday, shipped to us
overnight, and brewed with on a Saturday. I used 28 pounds of fresh
hops in the mash and used the remainder in the boil. The finished beer
was dryhopped with locally grown Cascade hops from Livery customers
that grow them here for fun. Two of the firkins we'll feature on the
31st. will be dryhopped a second time with local cascade hops.

To create Hopping Dragon, I tweaked the recipe of Laughing Dragon,
American amber ale, and as with McGillihop, I ordered 50 punds of
fresh Chinook hops from Yakima, WA, For Hopping Dragon I retained 3
pounds of the Chinooks to dryhop the finished beer along with locally
grown Cascades. Two of the special release firkins will be dryhopped a
second time with two other Cascade varieties.”

A special cafe menu featuring harvest fare will also be available on Sunday!

cerebral, philosophers (Who did Bertrand Russell call, “the most
lovable of philosophers?”) , and much, much more.

A plethora of categories gives all team members their strong subject
and ensures the useless knowledge stored away will finally be put to
good use. What does matter is that everyone has fun! Nightly prizes

Tim Stop Trio
“beyond hip-hop, beyond rock, beyond soul”
It would be fair to say Tim Stopulos’s (b.1983) music career began at
the age of 6 when he embarked on 15 years of formal piano training.
Inspired by Dave Matthews, he added the guitar to his repertoire in
high school and started playing live in cover bands and solo whenever
he could.

He began writing his own songs as soon as picked up the guitar and
continued to write as he discovered all his heroes: John Mayer, Ben
Folds, Coldplay, Billy Joel, Radiohead and Jeff Buckley to name a few.
"I tend to name those guys as my greatest influences, but I would be
lying if I said I haven't been inspired by hip-hop and R&B. Justin
Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Maroon 5, even Nelly. Those guys have
incredible style."

Certainly, Tim's sound goes beyond hip-hop, beyond rock and beyond
soul. He seems to take pieces of every type of music he loves (even
classical) and mixes them all together to create a sound that's all
his own.

Currently, Tim is in Chicago playing with the newly formed Tim Stop
Trio, featuring Justin Hooks on drums & percussion, Seville Lilly on
boards & bass, and Michael Tahlier on lead guitar. They have been
performing "The Long Drive Home" and exciting new material in the
Chicagoland area and plan to add new dimensions to the music as they
go. "It's a work in progress, but it will be exciting every step of
the way". www.timstoptrio.com
