Looking in Eagle MI for a decent restaurant, I make visit to the Eagle Inn.

What I really want is Charlie's of Westphalia, which is a short drive
north, the two towns of Eagle & Westphalia sharing an exit off I-96.
The Eagle Inn is okay, but it isn't as "shabby polished" as Charlie's
of Perry, MI. Yes, the bar has that hoppy beer from Shorts on tap, but
the menu appears only on a illuminated black board with colorful,
marker drawn letters. Will look up name of this kind of board, akin to
a florescent white board. I buy a Bud Light, the smaller mug, to be
respectful since I, ahem, freshed up in the Men's room, so to speak. A
local painter has painted local and surely historical scenes on a pair
of sawmill circular blades. The iron bridge over the Grand River is
similar to those found in Portage. A man who is hunting holding a
rifle stands on the dirt road leading up to it. The second celebrates
a two story building with wraparound porches, perhaps an inn. A sleigh
filled with logs passes into the foreground. A woman has told me where
to find the menus, and she's trying to talk me out of going up to
Westphalia. It's empty, smaller than Eagle and no mlore than two
people will be walking around. The cooks are probably getting ready to
go home.
