Moody, foggy day is boon for diners at the Lake House, Lake Muskegon waterfront, but it's a loss for ice fishermen.

Please, pull the holiday ornaments out of the window, saving those
preventing bird collisions. The marina has open waters for migratory
birds, if any are left now. If only Lake Muskegon harbored seals or
otters! Bubblers are agitating the slip water, so that's one reason
the polar plunge has moved to Fricanos. Can't see Fricanos today and
the land masses of the far shore are a mere horitzontal stroke of lead
paint, a wide brush. There's a pair of barges side by side at
mooring, and I can't make out name in white paint of the bow of one. A
restauranteur might find the view of a ship obectional from lakefront
windows; these barges add a film noir quality to our lunch time view.

Looks as if the Lake House is bringing on the continental Latin friend
of the Mojito, the Caipirinha, said ki-pir-eenya. Don't say it so it
sounds like Aspirin with a laugh at the end. I dropped in for the soup
and half-sandwich special, playing gourmand on a Subway budget.
Sandwich ok but soup tasted special.

There's four panel paintings of whitecaps and waves, but the Lake
House wouldn't attribute Ray Ortner without attribution
