Reporting on a Scotch Egg candidate for excellence, Fox & Firkin Freehouse, Flint Michigan

To my favorite connoisseur of the Scotch Egg:

I am partial to the Scotch Egg, as my mother prepared them her family, and I really haven't enjoyed one since I left for college. I overnighted in Flint, Michigan next door to the Fox & Firkin Freehouse in Flint, Michigan. Well, technically on the upper verge of Burton, Michigan. I had a lovely Guinness to send me to bed and then to bed in the hotel next door. I remember your description of all steps an establishment must take to ensure sanitary sleeping for next guest, and alas, few were followed here. It was a comfortable bed, with clean, recently changed sheets, but I doubt the bedspread was vacuumed. I consider it a relief to have awakened without bedbug welts. Just for safe measure, I would plunge myself into a hot spring with 110 degree temperature water, arisen from a volcanic fissure, if one were to hand. I like employing Priceline Name Your Own Price, and I usually end up in a nice Holiday Inn Express or a Courtyard by Marriott when I bid for Flint after family visits in Waterford, Michigan. Be that as it may, I returned to the Firkin so I could employ the wireless and check my business processes on my databases in Muskegon, Michigan. Imagine, a perfect Irish pub on side of I-69, a major interstate, and the only hotel within stumbling distance must be eschewed.

I am glad I am friends with an insightful person who reminds me of Sherlock Holmes when it comes to perception. I mean, you can tell what has happened in a room with a single glance, homing in on tell-tale clues such as dust or a slight speck of cigarette ash. I am not sure if your skill arises from excellent vision and color sense or years of experience and knowledge pursued relentlessly. For this reason, I am reporting to you this Scotch Egg Occurrence in hopes that we might bring you to Fox and Firkin to confirm my evaluation. I simply will never bring to gustatory and culinary criticism your attuned palate, cultivated by cooking for friends and dining according to the Chicago Tribune recommendations. I am glad the house gave me two at a goodly price, served on a bed of lettuce and a ramikin of gerkins, Gulden's spicy mustard on the table from the start. I enjoyed them immensely, would order them again, and feel well nourished after brunching upon them. Alas, I cannot bring them by car to you since one must experience the beauty of them hot. Are they beautiful? Well, I see a road trip is indicated.

Best,
Wilbo

I'm not so sure you would be into Walli's, but it's been a Flint favorite for years:
