I once wrote a poem that played upon rhymes with the word fleet for a woman who ran with me on training runs, summer of 1989. I have no idea where my copy of it lies, but probably on bottom of a trash heap. I could rewrite it. I would probably gag and choke in the attempt. That's why I now post most of my writing on the net. I wrote three pretty good poems about running, and it makes me weepy to think of them, since my arthritic knees preclude running now. "When spring comes, we will foot travel" is a line from one. "Inside the beast gives a second wind howl. Rampant am I! In fatigue I must drown." Yes, you see why I am not now a professional poet. If you ever see poems typed out on cotton bond with these lines, contact me immediately. They will be signed, my way of validating a fair copy.
Anyways, this is a shout out to @fleetfootphilo, which is short for fleet foot philosopher. I guess you give him a philosophical dilemma and he takes of running until he solves it.
Charles Dickens was notable for taking legendarily long walks through the streets of London to gather material and characters. I know I'm always looking about for these reality slices as I wander about.
Of course, a running philosopher is also a peripatetic philosopher, and Aristotle is the father, parent, of your school, Philo.
I've been reading Fleet Foot Philo, who commented on the rainbows and the possible flight of Pablo of Pablo's Tacos to Mexico. Pablo, therefore, would be the fleetest foot of the fleet foot philosophers. Pablo was devoted to the ideas of a revolutionary, Emiliano Zapata, if Pablo's wall postings could be trusted. Zapata led in the revolt against the rule of President Porfirio Díaz in 1910. Pablo's Tacos no longer has a painting of the Virgin Mary hanging. It no longer has the Emiliano Zapata calendar either.
Read Philo:
It's better to die upon your feet than to live upon your knees! Prefiero morir de pie que vivir siempre arrodillado!
