Fatty Lumpkins opens for business in Muskegon, MI. I'll nom nom nom nom nom to that!

Whoa! I just found the brochure in the break room. It's only open from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Washington Street, but I'll take it. I needed a new place to take lunch, especially after our taqueria closed on Third Street. What kind of town can't support a taco and burrito counter? Nice brochure, but it's better to have a webpage.

What is exciting is Fatty Lumpkins turns up in a neighborhood, not too far from the prestigious Watermark complex, with great condos, a banquet and event center and possibly, a film studio. I hope this isn't the high watermark for development in that neighborhood. Now if Fricanos would open for lunch!

I have passed far too much time looking up the auction house at the corner of Beidler and Washington. The owner has a Scottish brogue and I think he runs a butcher's shop out of it too. But Fatty Lumpkin's is sourcing its meat from Boar's Head.

The Taqueria is a basic measure of economic development. If yours closes shop, rethink everything in your downtown strategy. It's like a canary passing out.
