I quote the Livery Brewing Company Newsletter.
Silver Queen – a German Helles (pronounced Hell-es) Lager – is brewed with water from Eastman Springs in Benton Harbor. Silver Queen was first brewed in 2008. That year Steve met with the Eastman family to determine what style of beer would best capture the character of Colonel Eastman. The style they chose was a German Helles Lager. The Livery’s Silver Queen is brewed with 100% spring water from the historic Eastman Springs, located here in Benton Harbor at Mary’s City of David. Steve, Sawyer and Wally hauled water from the famed Silver Queen Spring to the brewery earlier this summer to make the current batch. North American malts and North American hops blend to create a truly drinkable light lager.
Now I quote their beer menu:

Now for a word from yours truly, Wandering Wilbo:
My dear friends at the Livery. When the Silver Queen arrives to your taps, it's a big a festival as a beauty pageant. Please send personal notices. I hope it doesn't sell out until I lift a pint or two. I know that sounds so selfish. Alright, I'm booking a hotel room so driving is not required. Don't promise to save me a growler. It's an honest offer: GET HERE WHILE IT LASTS. It's the same kind of offer that set off the gold rush. It's the same kind of offer that made the Sooners arrive early.
Is it true that the Eastman Springs gives forth water with slight traces of lithium? I once read a chemical analysis in an old book.

It's so easy to write cool articles about the Livery. I write them all the time. Glad the Chicago Tribune is resident on the Michigan Shore:
Well, Well, Well, Behold the Golder Queen:
If you like hyper-local news, the Benton Spirit is super local and a little bit hyper in downtown Benton Harbor, Michigan. They have the story on Eastman Springs.. The first release of the Silver Queen Helles Lager arrived with a historical exhibit on the famous resort built around the spring. I wish everytown had a historical museum that served microbrews on tap. The Livery is that place, thanks to a friend from the House of David who saved EVERYTHING. Now, the relationship between the Livery and the House of David is tight. It is celebrated with a friendly game of old-time baseball between the Livery Brewers and the House of David. Difference between the House of David and some old-time baseball teams. The House of David started playing decades ago and keep playing. The team that prays together always makes the double plays together.
I guess Eastman Springs water was good for ginger ale too. Maybe it was popular with bootleggers too.
