Nice to combine a pit stop with a rest stop. Grand Ledge MI, Mile 14490.

Twenty miles to empty, I didn't think my gas would bring me to Portland. I skipped the Speedway because the Mobil had a McDonalds open twenty four seven. It's a cop out to eat a double cheeseburger but the three butter tarts I ate two hours back had run out. I remember starting this day at 45 degrees Fahrenheit and a heavy rain. Now, I pumped my gas as a wind chilled the 25 degree Fahrenheit air. Radio station is playing Bruce Springsteen's Rosalita, so that has kept the cheer in the morning. Get yourself some cheap sunglasses, advises the lead singer of ZZ Top. This is WLAV, 97 FM, out of Grand Rapids? I am happy to know I'll have this station in my ears and on my dial until at least Coopersville. Must have an enhanced broadcast because these ax men sound a bit more mystical and funky tonight, more than ever. And I've been aware of the top for a while.

Looks like I will be home by midnight.
