MILE 12644: Iron Horse Saloon in Durand Michigan never closes.

Leonard J. Krawczyk is the owner of this amazing establishment, a restaurant that never sleeps run by a man of letters who never blinks. Leonard also manages his own newspaper, the Independent. And he always treated my father respectfully, engaging him in conversation. I have not plumbed the depths of Leonard's philosophy, but Fox News usually plays on the television, suggesting conservative. Which would make his political philosophy close to my dad's. I have shared the news of his passing with Janine, the cook and graveyard shift manager, who remembers him. I should post his picture just so everyone's aware. I would write more but Janine is catching me up on Durand, and she's wearing an Ireland teeshirt and shows no sign of tiring as we nightowls fly toward dawn. Breakfast would put the Rendezvous to shame and the prices are Shiawassee county low. What kind of cook would a news editor have running his graveyard shift. How about an Irish American woman who has Governor Snyder's office on speed dial?
