Lakeside in Muskegon is getting facelifts, with Cafe USA undergoing gutting. Mile 12250.

Hawks is open, serving chicken & ribs. Pocket park is adding a concrete pad, good for concerts or Santa Claus shacks. The Star Power store is full of well polished and selected antiques, but the fastidious owner has missed her August First goal for a grand opening. Got a tree crew clearing lines behind Star Power, too. Mechanics working all hours in the garage. Bill at the bait store is listening to Exploring Music and talking a possibility of perch in autumn in Muskegon Lake and White Bass taking minnows in White Lake. He has two black and white photos from this enclave in 1914 or so. Pigeon Hill is still standing, plenty of sand to be mined. I saw a picture showing a Quonset hut, the Harbor Theater, and  no additional commercial buildings. I will have to take another look for how could that be so? Ruddiman Lagoon
and the creek look well defined and Catholic Central hasn't taken over the hay field. Sherman boulevard looks like a waste of sand.
