First we had Watermark 920 open as a New York City style event center. The center at Watermark 920, when it is fully active, reminds people of Miami, Los Angeles or Manhattan. The bowling alley on Sherman Avenue has always had a banquet room for special events. Now after special upgrades, including fresh paint, ornament and carpeting, the space begins new life as a Platinum Room. I've heard since the upgrades, the house has booked four weddings. The smaller catering houses came out to celebrate this open house. Above and Beyond and Ryke's Bakery laid out a stunning array of delectibles. The florists in town showed off by decorating the round tables with tableclothes and centerpieces. I enjoyed the work by Chalet Floral, Flowers by Ray & Sharon and Wasserman Floral. Wasserman Floral has roots in floral that go back to 1880. The first lady of Norton Shores, the mayor's wife, operates Wasserman Floral for the family. This is just the first upgrade for the Olatinum Room. Two more phases are planned.
