It's been a busy spring here at The Greatest Little Radio Station on the Planet - and one that has shown how generous our loyal listener-sponsors can be. In March, we set out a goal to raise $88,100 by the end of our fiscal year (June 30). With very little time remaining, we're now shockingly close to reaching that unprecedented goal.

With one week to go, we have a mere $3,712.27 to go. In keeping with our pledge to keep on-air fundraising to a minimum, we're not going to hold any special on-air fundraising event. Instead, we're relying on you to make a contribution online, in person at WYCE studios, or by simply dropping a check in the mail.

Okay. So $88,100 is the goal. What's the plan?

Good question. This time last year we were doing some special fundraising to finish our antenna installation project. With that work done, we've turned our technical improvement efforts inward.

We are creating an all-new, custom-built software suite to improve WYCE programming.

Our IT department has been working diligently to create an entirely new programming suite for us, incorporating new, more detailed, customizable search options - helping our programmers explore deeper into the nearly 200,000 songs in the WYCE library. This new system will also free up some much-needed space by digitizing a significant portion of our CD library.

And the improvements won't just be felt in-house. This new system will not only make our programming better for the listeners, it will open up new opportunities for you to interact with our programming via our web site and mobile devices.

Your donation right now will bring this important project to fruition.

The funds we raise before June 30th will allow us to install a new, customized high-end studio computer and other studio technology improvements. We'll roll out our new programming suite later this summer if we make this goal or not. But it would be a shame to have to run this exciting new program on a somewhat dodgy, mildly outdated computer. Instead, we could launch our new programming suite on a top-of-the-line machine, financed by your generous end-of-fiscal-year support.
