Hugh Kallen, any friend of the Bluffton Church and the Silversides is a friend of mine. Thanks for reaching out.

Dear Hugh Kallen;

I like calling it the Silversides Museum. I believe you have truly taken the website up to a new level. It is a pleasure to point my readers towards it. The new design of the website will mean hundreds of additional visitors to the museum, which is hitting a new high note. I loved the picture exhibition studying the St. Mary's Challenger, and I hope the museum hosts more exhibitions of art.

The museum is becoming home to several allied organizations, especially the Muskegon Power Squadron. Not too long ago, Doctor Ray Hilt came out to talk to everyone about progress for the Milwaukee Clipper. Hopefully, the clipper can find a permanent home and begin its life as Muskegon's floating destination for banquets and celebrations.

This kind of connection is why I write the blog. I also attended Bluffton Church during the time of the previous ministry. Any church service that includes dueling pianos and sermons by Cowboy Cliff, Muskegon's great man of radio, was worthy of a pilgrim's stop. I've noticed the ice cream socials and the good religious instruction taking place at the new Bluffton Church, so I'll visit soon.

Since you are connected to the museum, perhaps I can pitch an idea I've had for the space. In Grand Rapids, we have Dog Story Theater, and the space is truly coming into its own as a home for three to four small theater companies. Why not Fish Story Theater? There's a great body of theatrical literature dedicated to understanding our men and women who serve our country. We have many people who tour out to our troops as comedians and entertainers. Maybe the museum can become a stop on all of these tours?
