I was just given that perfect latte with a heart shaped crema by a newly minted man of the cloth, a graduate of the seminary housed close to Hope College. He's an ordained minister who uses the coffee counter as his pulpit. And then he engaged me in conversation between customers, precious few this hour of the night. Would you believe that the heart shaped crema remained visible until the last sip? My opinion of the young man's character can be summed up thus: the best always get a little bit lost. By the way, I am sitting in JP's Coffee House, which fields a barista team for international competitions and functions as a training ground for practitioners of the coffee ministry of the Reformed Church. Half the establishment serves as a barista school. Go over to Lemonjellos, which has the environmentalist and sustainability religion. The staff even composts the napkins there. Wish the ceiling fans weren't turning: I am feeling a chill even though I am wearing my thick wool coat.
One of these days, I will have to share my experiences in the realm of the religious. Tonight, it's time to go over to the New Holland Brewing Company for a pint of the cider. Wonder if they have a band?
I wonder what produces all these amazing humans?
