The librarian is a 58 year old woman named Jan Alm, and she leads the library at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She has lived in Utah and Cape Cod and has served as a medium for eight years. She began developing her skill as a medium when her mother, she claims, began to communicate through mental movies. Almost has written a book, quaintly titled Woo Woo about her experiences communicating through the veil, giving pointers on how to practice. She even passed out a flier giving 18 steps to follow. That's what I like: practical training and hands on education. I listened skeptically but I was moved by here stories of people who truly believed Alm had established communication with passed over relatives. Alm sends out calls to deceased people of interest and makes the speaker, so to speak, give identifiers for a client to verify. If the spirit can provide no verifiable identifier, Almost just hangs up. One spirit was verified by showing the image of a running horse in Palm's imagination. The spirit had collected Mustang sports cars in real life. It's worth hearing Almost out because her stories are intensely personal insights into the lives of people missing loved ones. These conversations could have therapeutic effect even if the talk was made up by a con-man. If anything, Almost is a great listener and conversationalist who knows how to connect and cold read a subject.
My grandmother professed to have prophetic dreams and to talk in tongues. She once predicted my serious condition by dreaming I was found on a stretcher bed in the ruins of our farmhouse, after an earthquake had shaken the building to its core. I was eight. She picked up the phone that afternoon to learn I had been hospitalized. I sometimes get a funny feeling and I pay attention to them. Am I Psychic or am I just interested in playing with minds?
Jan Alm will do more than read your palm.
