What the New Holland Brewing Company says about Blue Star Red, alleged Meritage wine.

As far as I can tell, this is strictly tabled wine, at most a ten
dollar bottle and not a cherry pick at that. It's a fun wine, just as
most hard ciders are fun. The menu maintains,"A dry blend with
pronounced tannin structure and good mouth feel, bordeaux style. It's
a complex red for serious wine drinkers". Well, that's passable copy,
but a serious wine drinker is going to look for three grapes in blend
and percentages of each. Your label doesn't even announce percentage
of alcohol. Goodness, New Holland Brewing Company, with the triumph of
your Duchess Vodkas, how can you present this a Meritage? Can you lay
it down for ten years. Let me set you straight. Go to Niagara's wine
region and ask for a Meritage or a Trillium. I was so excited to see a
Meritage on menu and those powerful Canadians were what I was
expecting.
