I road a bus to school from 1st Grade until 12th Grade. Yes, I did
drive myself from time to time, but for the most part, I got a ride to
school and I waited for that ride. Just as I wrote that line, my
cabbie showed up. He felt euphoric. The transmission, or tranny, had
blown up on his usual cab and this cab was much better, with
controllable heat and only 165,000 miles on the cab. This cab even had
a CD player that worked. Let's not call it Port City Cab anymore. It's
Port City Limo. Another cab company is crowding into the Muskegon
market and little distinctions make a difference. Port City buys cabs
for a song at auction, and fixes them up in house. The house mechanic
can handle a tranny tear down and rebuild in 4 hours. If you can
replace a tranny cheaply, you can keep a cab on the road forever for
nothing. It's nice to be driven. My cabbie points out all the fresh deer kills
along US-31, two this morning, one from Tuesday now bloating. I see a
@HStoneBistro chef walking into work spiritedly. Now the Heartsone
asks us to call in for the soup of the day news. Too open to
inspiration to publish in advance. @PintsQuarts has new beers on tap I
see, all facts I can enjoy because I caught a ride.
