You have ninety four days of summer in your account. Enjoy each to fullest (9/23 minus 6/21 = 94).

Hello Friends,

This serves as your reminder that summer is on and summer is rolling. You have 94 days in your summer account, which come complete with 94 summer mornings, 94 summer lunches and 94 summer nights. You have a chance to make the most of them. So that you waste not one of these summer days, I have created a summer planner for you. Make your plans upon it and write your successes too. To my mind, outdoors is better than indoors. Lake is better than land. Woods are better than concrete. Dinner on the patio is better than dinner in the house. Music performed live is second only to birdsong. Parties are better than being alone, most of the time. Solitude is bliss, but follow your solitude with some togetherness. Love is better than .... well, comparisons are invidious. Plan now. We cannot have this morning that is elapsing back.

Hi WW,

Kathleen and I had that same discussion this morning, and if you will pardon the cliche', you really hit the nail on the head.

I found this poem last winter and I've tried to read it s l o w l y to myself regularly:

SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You'd better slow down,
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short,
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask, "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done,
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?

You'd better slow down,
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short,
The music won't last.

Ever told your child
We’ll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die,
Cause you never had time
To call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down,
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short,
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift…thrown away.

Life is not a race,
Do take it slower.
Hear the music,
Before the song is over.

Sorry I hit "done" too soon - I meant to say the poem is by David Weatherford, and the comment is from me, Hugh Kallen.
