Once more we luncheon at the Lake House, on Lake Muskegon, Michigan

One can satisfy ones urgency for adventure temporarily, at least until the weekend, by visit different vistas and vantage points upon Lake Muskegon. I can think of ten very quickly, and I visit them at least once each season. During this season of slush, this is my first visit to the Lake House on Lake Muskegon, a vantage point looking west across one of the widest expanses, affording a view of the channel. A pair of binoculars could be enjoyed here to bring the channel into close observance. I looked up my location on the Google map, and I see I am far from the most eastern point of the lake. As any mariner knows, only the compass or the satellite can tell the actual direction of a gaze over water.

The Pond Hockey tournament has pushed into February. Winterfest and Snowfest keep their dates since much of the action takes place in beer tents anyways. Winterfest spokespeople keep reminding folks that Winterfest doesn't require snow and the snowguns on Mulligan's Hollow can cover the slopes for the downhill activities. I have a blasted cough that tells me winter has laid its claim upon me, snow and lake ice not of the essence in this matter. I knocked out the last one with a single pill of mucus magic. This one still resists the charm after three days of mucus bombs.

Time to return to the office for another round of coding, trying out a few ideas I hatched on the drive here. I can see my return path along the bluffs near Coles Garlic Bread and Fricanos from here. I wonder how they'll handle the Polar Plunge over by the Fricano's Pizza and Event Center if there's no ice to cut or ice to walk upon, leap from?
